15 Beauty Tips and Tricks

Today I am sharing 15 Beauty Tips to help you save time in the AM! So read this, hit snooze, and enjoy those few extra ZZZ’s.

15 Beauty Tips and Tricks

Whenever I get the chance, I always hit the snooze button for those precious extra 10 minutes of sleep. The problem with that is that I end up with 10 minutes more sleeping time but 10 minutes less time to get ready for work.

Through my lazy AM snoozing though, and my rushed 5 AM getting ready routine, I’ve found that there are tons of things, 15 things to be exact, that you can do the night before to ensure that your AM beauty routine is as easy, minimal and seamless as possible. Let’s talk about them.

15 Beauty Tips and Tricks

1. Use An Eyelash Serum

Try an eyelash enhancer that you put on before bed at night. There are loads of lash growth serums on the market, but you can also make your own DIY Eyelash Growth Serum. I use my homemade lash serum nightly to support my eyelash growth and I’ve found that it really helps both with length and thickness.

2. Create a Nighttime Routine

One thing that has really helped my daily get-ready routine is having a good skincare routine the night before. A good nighttime skincare routine will help moisturize your skin and address any issues you’re concerned about so that you can wake up, do your AM skincare routine, and feel confident in your skin.

When I fall off my evening routine I have found that my skin quickly looks dull and super dry. It makes me feel tired looking and so I end up relying more on makeup to make me feel more like myself. Since I like going makeup-free or wearing minimal makeup, I prefer to spend my time focused on skincare so that my skin is cared for and healthy looking.

3. Overnight Care

Invest in an overnight skincare oil or overnight face mask. These oils and masks can address your skincare concerns. For me, I am concerned about dryness, acne, and fine lines so I use an overnight mask that addresses one or all of those concerns.

4. Plan Your Outfits Ahead

Something I only recently started doing was choosing my outfits the night before work. In the morning, I am just too tired and too groggy to pick out an outfit that I end up liking the whole day. Too many times have I gone to work and realized I was completely mismatched.

So now, I choose my outfit the night before. This allows me to plan for the weather, pick out something comfortable, and feel more confident that what I put on in the AM will look professional and well-styled.

5. Have a Hairstyle Backup Plan

Let’s be honest, we can’t always have great hair days – but we can hide them away with a good ol’ backup hairstyle. My favourite backup hairstyle is either a sleek bun or a slicked-back ponytail. These hairstyles take me only a few minutes to do and they always look professional, in my opinion.

6. Find Your Scent

One way to feel more put-together in the AM is by spritzing on your signature scent. I don’t know how to explain it, but it just makes your style feel extra intentional and thoughtful.

7. Take Care Of Your Smile

I love beautiful smiles. While I’ve never really loved my smile, I do try to care for my teeth so that they are healthy and bright-looking.

Maintain a dental health routine for your oral hygiene that includes not only brushing but flossing as well to keep teeth at their healthiest. If you find that your teeth tend to look slightly more yellow than you’d like then try out the HiSmile Purple Toothpaste I have just begun using it and have been so impressed by how bright it makes my smile look!

8. Invest In A Lip Scrub

When your lips are looking dry and cracked try using a lip scrub to slough away the dead skin cells, not only will it make your lips smooth again – it also helps to enhance the pinkness of your lips! If you don’t want to purchase a scrub then you can actually make one by mixing a bit of sugar & oil together (or Vaseline)!

9. Moisturize Your Skin

My skin gets super dry in the winter and that makes my skin look really dry and dusty. That’s why I now always moisturize my skin after I shower or bathe. It helps my skin look healthier and also keeps it feeling soft and smooth.

10. Try Overnight Hairstyling Methods

Try heatless methods for styling your hair to minimize hair damage. I often use this heatless hair-curling method to style my hair while I snooze.

11. Rest Up

Get lots of sleep.  Feeling rested is your health and makes you look and feel better each and every day.

12. Hydrate

I love water and I drink loads. of it but when I get ready busy, it’s easy to forget. If you’re feeling tired and tired looking during the day, it may be because you’re not drinking enough water.

Buy a reusable water bottle. Drinking lots of water throughout the day will help keep you looking and feeling refreshed by keeping you hydrated.

13. Don’t Neglect Your Legs

During the winter, it’s easy to neglect your body care since we are all dressing much cozier than we do in the summer. If your legs are in need of a little care then invest in or make a body scrub (just like in tip 8) to sluff off dead skin cells. Afterward, apply some body lotion to your legs to soothe any dry spots.

14. Add Some Shine

To get shiny locks all day every day, invest in a great hair serum. I apply hair serum before bed (and then I braid my hair) as well as after styling my hair to keep my hair healthy and shiny.

Applying the serum before bed will help reduce damage from your hair rubbing against the fabric, and it acts as an “overnight” conditioning treatment!

15. Braids, Braids, Braids

If you want to cut down on your hairstyling time, try braiding your hair at night. You’ll wake up with pretty waves that’ll last all day! And you’ll have fewer knots and tangles to deal with.

Bree, these are some great tips… I think having the night regiment is the way to go with my skin care and I like the sounds of the Moroccan oil, my hair could use a good quality oil treatment 🙂

Love the idea of braiding your hair and using serums. My hair is nuts in the morning. Also will have to check out Glo teeth whitening as I always think that improves a smile!

Great beauty tips! I always love reading things like this 🙂 My number one tip is (like you said) to use a reusable water bottle and to drink tons and tons of water!! It helps prevents headaches for me and really makes a difference in my appearance. I frequently add lemon slices and/or green teabags to mine too.

My heart is absolutely bursting right now. I can’t believe our little Liam is here. He is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. He loves his sleep, is unbelievably strong, and is a total cuddle bug. Our hearts are so full 🤍🤍🤍

We had our scheduled c-section for the morning of May 3 and we knew going into it that there were two surgical routes that would be considered because of my prior spinal surgery. The first, the more routine c-section with either an epidural or spinal anaesthesia. The second, being fully put under with general anesthesia. I’ll be honest, I really thought we would be going with the first option(s) and that GA wouldn’t really be on the table. I didn’t want it on the table, but after speaking to the anesthesiologist, it became clear that it was the safest option. It was an emotional decision, I was really scared to be honest. It was not made lightly. I was walked into the OR at about 10:00am and by 10:13am, Liam was earthside and screaming. Jeremy was there to cut the cord and give him his first cuddles. It took me a bit longer to get to see our Liam because of this surgical route, and I feel so lucky knowing Jeremy was there to be with him in his first moments. He already is such a great dad 🤍

The last 48 hours have been a wonderful whirlwind. We are all doing well. We feel incredibly blessed to have our sweet Liam here💙
