Things to Do in Vancouver
I’m a Vancouver girl at heart. I love living in this incredible city, and it feels like every day I get to discover something new and exciting. I love the mixture of city + greenery that Vancouver has. I love the daily seawall walks, the many local parks for picnics, and the city bustle when I am looking to go out.
This past weekend is a perfect example of all I love about Vancouver: our day started at my favourite brunch spot, the Score on Davie, then we walked over to the Jazz Music Festival, and then we moseyed on over to Granville Island for an afternoon with friends, and we finished off our day oceanside in Coal Harbor at Tap & Barrel. On Sunday I spent my day doing a little weekend prep by heading out to a farmer’s market to grocery shop.
There’s so much to see, and so much to do in this beautiful city of ours, and today I am excited to share a few of them with you! Scroll through to read my full 6 Fun Things to Do in Vancouver guide!
Dine Out
One thing I love about Vancouver is the food – there really is no shortage of delicious places to try out. Fable Kitchen & Forage have to be two of my favourite dinner restaurants. Fable is simply delicious, and Forage ever-changing menu is always a delicious surprise. For dessert try out Earnest Icecream or Rain or Shine Café. Both spots are sure to offer you a refreshing treat on these hot summer days.
My favourite spots for sushi are Miku (though it is on the pricey side) and Kishimoto on commercial drive. Be warned though, Kishimoto usually has a pretty long line-up because the sushi is not only incredible, but it’s also super affordable, which makes it a hot dinner spot.
Winery Tour or Brewery Tour
Did you know you can go on a wine tour right in the heart of Vancouver? There are tons of wine spots here in Vancity! You can either do a wine tour or hit up a great wine bar, I personally really love the Vancouver Urban Winery – it has tons of great wine and a wonderfully laid-back atmosphere.
Vancouver is also home to many craft beer breweries, so if you prefer beer over wine then don’t worry, there are tons of options for you! There’s Vancouver Craft Beer Week, and there are tours available on Vancouver Brewery Tours too so you can try out a few different breweries!
Try a Local Coffee Shop
Explore coffee shops in Vancouver! One thing I love about Vancouver is all the incredible coffee shops. A few of my favourites are Revolver, Prado, and Timbertrain.
Get Out & Into Nature
If you’d like to escape the city you absolutely can in one of Vancouver’s incredible parks, or by taking a walk on the sea wall. If you want something a bit more adventurous then just head a little out of town for a day of hiking.
See What’s Happening Around Town
See what’s happening at the Vancouver Convention Centre or see if there is a festival going on. During the summer there are tons of activities (many of them free to attend!) happening around Vancouver.
In fact, our recent day at the Jazz Festival was almost entirely free – the only costs were from having a few drinks at the beer garden.
Shop til you drop
There are tons of excellent places to shop: malls, Gastown, and Robson Street. Robson Street is a great place to go to stroll and find shops, plus you can stop in for lunch (and Caesar’s – why not!) at one of the various restaurants along Robson Street.

I wish I'd known about the ice cream shops when I was visiting Vancouver. Those both have the most yummy sounding flavours!

This is such a helpful and exciting post for me! My boyfriend and I are doing a road trip to Vancouver at the end of the summer (we're from Ontario, so it's quite a trek, aha) and we're definitely going to have to check out some of these places. Thanks for the suggestions!
