If there’s one thing I learned from my mum about beauty and self-care growing up, it was to take care of my eyebrows. More than anything else, she let me know how important it was to care for my brows – and to never, ever over-pluck them. Because of her advice, I have been pretty diligent over the years to never over-pluck my brows and to use DIY brow serums, and her helpful advice as helped me maintain my thick natural brows.
But just because I have thicker brows doesn’t mean that I don’t use brow products now and again. Whenever I have an event or something important to attend, I always make sure to take some time to do my brows. Great brows really complete a look and make your makeup overall look a bit more polished.
Get Seriously On Point Brows with Benefit Cosmetics
Lately, I’ve been using a lot of Benefit Brow products. After being sent the four products in a PR package a few weeks ago, I have been trying each of the products out – together and separately to see how I can achieve my ideal brow look. I know I’ve mentioned this a million times (so I am sorry to do it again), but this summer I am getting married and I will be doing my own makeup look. This means that this year I’ve been putting in a lot of time and thought into which products I want to use for my big day. I want them to look natural, feel comfortable, last long, and just enhance my features rather than appear dramatic or bold.
BROWVO! conditioning eyebrow primer
The BROWCO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer is designed to help you regrow your brows. Its formula is a clear gel which contains Keratin and Soy proteins. These proteins help promote long-term hair growth. I have been a fan of conditioning my brows for years now, so I am a huge believer that topical products like this can help keep the skin healthy and your hair growing. For years, I just used coconut oil – but now, I’ll definitely be using my BROWCO! Conditioning Eyebrow Primer. But, if you’re wanting something that’ll add a little oomph into your brow game right away then don’t worry – this product also does that. Because the formula is thick, it also coats your brow hairs to make them appear thicker. When you apply a gel or pencil over top, you’ll find your brows look super full, thick, and that they last all day. One of the main things I was impressed with about this primer was how it helped my brow game last for hours and hours.
ka-BROW! eyebrow cream-gel colour
When I first started using this brow gel – I was honestly a little scared of it. The gel formula is thick and it is easy to build up really dark and dramatic brows. The main thing I’ll say about this pomade is that less is more – pick up a very small amount of product because it’s easy to go overboard with it! Once you’ve figured out how to apply this product without overdrawing your brows, you’ll absolutely love it. Since the ka-BROW! eyebrow cream-gel colour is so buildable, you really have a lot of freedom over how dramatic or natural you want your brows to look. Want Instagram-brows? No problem. Want natural every day brows? You can do that, too. The colour I chose for my ka-BROW! eyebrow cream-gel colour was 04 – Medium. I wanted to be sure that I got a colour that looked natural, as I’ve used brow products before that are too dark for me and they appear way too intense. The ka-BROW! eyebrow cream-gel colour in 04 – Medium is a cool tone brown that works with my natural brow colour perfectly. I am absolutely thrilled with the colour, and the overall look of this pomade when used with a light hand.
gimme brow-volumizing eyebrow gel
The I’ve used the most out of all of these has to be the gimme brow-volumizing eyebrow gel. I got this in the Medium shade, and I’ve found that just wearing this product alone makes a huge difference in my brows. It really adds volume as well as disguises lighter spots on my brows to give an overall thicker and more even looking brow. I’ve been also really impressed with how long this product lasts. I recently wore it to the beach for a good 5 hours, then out to dinner, and was amazed to find that even after being out in the sun for hours that it hadn’t budged.
goof proof eyebrow pencil
The last product I tried out was the “goof proof eyebrow pencil”. I am used to wearing pencil brow products, so initially this was the one I was most comfortable using. The colour I got was 04 -medium, and I found the colour matched my brows very well. The one thing I will say about this product is that I did notice it faded throughout the day. Unlike a few of the other products here, it’s lasting power was less impressive. What I will say though was when I used it with the “gimme brow-volumizing eyebrow gel” I absolutely loved it. Those two used together created a really natural but full looking brow. I found that when worn together I was able to achieve my “dream” brows.Shop the Products here:
