10 Best Nude Lipsticks | My Favourite Natural-Looking Lipsticks
While I really like the look of bright and bold lipsticks, in general, I find that they just either don’t suit me or my life. The fact is, bold lipsticks require a level of maintenance and care that I am rarely willing to put in when I am wearing lipstick. So, basically, I reserve my bold lipsticks for special occasions and I stick to my nude lipsticks for daily wear.
Now to be clear, no one nude lipstick will suit absolutely everyone, so before we begin I just want to mention that a lot of these will be noted as the best nude lipsticks for fair skin because I am just speaking from my perspective and my skin happens to be quite fair. However, I am also sharing a few tips on how to find your perfect nude lipstick so even if the ones I note today aren’t for you, hopefully, the tricks I’ve shared will help you find your perfect neutral lipstick.
2 Tricks to Finding Your PERFECT Nude Lipsticks
Your Lips but Better… Really.
So the first trick to finding the perfect nude lipstick is to actually look at your natural lip colour. Begin by exfoliating and moisturizing your lips and then try to find a lipstick that closely resembles your natural lip colour. Make sure you use a scrub and lip balm before matching your lip colour though, otherwise, you may end up selecting a lipstick that looks too fair or washed out on you.
The Nip Test
If you want a nude lipstick that is slightly different from your natural lip colour, then try the nipple test. Most people’s nipples are slightly darker, peachier, or pinker than their lips and this is a good indication of what would look great on you like lipstick. Try to find something that matches your nipple colour closely for a lipstick that’s a nude with a subtle twist.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillowtalk
I’ve talked about and used Charlotte Tilbury’s Lipstick in Pillowtalk a number of times, so I am sure it comes as no surprise that it’s one of my very favourite lipsticks.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Lipstick in Pillowtalk is the perfect soft peachy rose nude lipstick and it is really one that I would consider very close to my natural lip colour. I love this lipstick for everyday wear, but I also find it pairs beautifully with more dramatic looks. It’s a really versatile lipstick.
In addition, the matte formula of this lipstick is surprisingly comfortable. While I am always drawn to more balm-like lipsticks, this matte lipstick is the exception.
*** If you have a deeper skin tone then you may want to check out Charlotte Tilbury’s newest nude lipsticks in “Pillow Talk Medium” and “Pillow Talk Intense” (Pillow Talk Intense is in the KISSING Formula which is more of a satin finish, not the matte revolution formula)
If you don’t love matte formulas, then I highly recommend you check out Charlotte Tilbury’s other products in Pillow Talk (they are all stunning!):

Clarins Natural Lip Perfector
My typical go-to lipsticks/lip balms are ones in a natural colour that are super moisturizing.
The Clarins Natural Lip Perfector is just that – a beautiful wash of colour that is super moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. I actually own 2 of the Clarins Natural Lip Perfectors and I love them both so much.
The one I am actually wearing as I write this is “Intense Maple #17″ which shows up on me slightly more reddish and berry-toned than my natural lip colour. I wouldn’t consider this as much of a nude shade on me, instead, I would say it gives a bit more of a punchy pop of colour than my usual nude lipsticks do. However, it is so comfortable and it wears off like a balm so it’s a great daily wear lipstick. In addition, this would be an excellent nude lipstick for those with deeper skin tones.
The shade I wear most frequently though is the “Intense Rosebud #16″ as this is really a perfect nude lip colour for me. It’s slightly deeper than my natural lip colour and it has a really beautiful rosy-peach tone to it that I just love!
Burts Bees Blush Basin
When I was in high school my favourite lip balms were always from Burts Bees. I used to always use the Burts Bees Lip Shimmer in Peony (I still really love this one!) and so when they came out with the Burts Bees Natural Satin Lipsticks, I was really excited about them.
I actually have a bunch of shades now because I love the formula so much, but the one in particular that I find to be such a beautiful nude shade is Blush Basin. It has a really beautiful blush tone to it that’s soft and rosy and super wearable.
Emani Lipgloss in Social Climber
If you follow me on Instagram, then you likely know I am a big fan of Emani makeup products – in particular, their foundations and lip products.
Emani Lipgloss in Social Climber is one of those colours that I just always find myself turning to. It’s such a beautiful blush pink gloss and it’s a bit unique for a gloss because it’s quite opaque rather than sheer. I would almost consider it a lip cream.
FRESH Lip Balm in Petal
I’ve talked a lot about Fresh Beauty on here because I’m a big fan of the brand overall. I love their skincare, but even more so I love their lip balms. They are super creamy, moisturizing, and beautiful. While their simple clean balms are great, their tinted balms are really where it’s at.
I have a few of the Fresh Beauty Tinted Lip balms, but the one I would definitely consider my favourite is called “Petal” – its a beautiful soft pink rose tone that is such a great wearable colour. It fades nicely as you wear it so you don’t have to worry about reapplication and it just feels SO comfortable on the lips.
Charlotte Tilbury In Love with Olivia
If you read my Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Review then you likely already know that the shade “In Love with Olivia” (inspired by Olivia Palmero) was one of my favourite nude lipsticks in the collection. This shade is a corally-pink nude that I absolutely love. It’s such a beautiful shade for everyday wear.
Like many satin lipsticks, it isn’t the most long-wearing lipstick however it fades very naturally on the lips and doesn’t break up or cling to areas as it wears off (like some liquid and matte lipsticks can).
Tarte Sea Colour Splash Lipstick in Colada
The Tarte Sea Colour Splash Lipsticks are some of my favourites, I absolutely LOVE the formula of them. In particular, the shade Colada has been one of my favourite nude lipsticks for quite some time. It’s a beautiful peachy-nude tone that seems to just work so beautifully with every style of makeup – its very versatile. In addition to Colada, I am also a big fan of Salt Lyfe and Beach Babe from this lipstick collection.
Milani Colour Statement Lipstick in Nude Creme
I have yet to try a Milani product that I don’t like, and that includes their lipsticks. Their Colour Statement Lipstick in Nude Creme is a particular favourite of mine. This shade is a bit more on the pink/rose side of nudes and it has a bit of a shine to it so I would consider this a satin-finish lipstick. It’s very comfortable to wear all day as it does have that lovely balmy feeling to it.
Bite Beauty Power Move Creamy Matte Lip Crayon in Leche
Many many years ago, I purchased a double-sided lip crayon from Bite Beauty. One side had Leche in it (I wish I could remember what the order side was!) and ever since trying it back then, I’ve absolutely loved it. This lipstick is a stunning medium-coral-pink nude. This lipstick has a very creamy matte finish and it applies a fully opaque colour in one swipe.
Bare Minerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick in Grace
The Bare Minerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick in Grace is one that I just recently picked up but have been really enjoying since getting it. It’s a pale pink nude shade with a satin finish so it feels quite moisturizing and comfortable on the lips.

I am a huge fan of Revlon Matte Balm lip crayon but never tried the other ranges. Nars lip crayons have long been in my list to try however, I am still on my spending ban and hopefully I'll get to try some later in the year.

Revlon is great because it's so affordable and the colours are so pigmented. I love their balms so much since they really don't sacrifice colour or the comfort of a lipblam! Good for you on your spending ban, Shireen! I seriously should do that too! =|

I was obsessed with the NARS Train Bleu when I swatched it, then I put it on and it was a whole different story. It turned Barney purple on me, which wasn't a good look. Ha! Love each of your picks girl!

Bree Aylwin says
Awe that's a shame, Jaime! It definitely has a purple undertone to it, but I have found it appears more of a black-burgundy on me. When it fades it just makes my lips look really dark red!
