Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Collection
I recently was sent Charlotte Tilbury’s latest lipstick collection: The Hot Lips 2 Collection.
While this set was sent to me, there was no obligation to post. I was just excited to try it out and share my own Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Review.
About the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Lipsticks…
This lipstick collection includes 11 lipsticks shades. These were made and named after 11 icons that Charlotte describes as “rule-breakers, record makers and history shakers!”
Also, this collection is in collaboration with Women for Women International. Charlotte Tilbury has pledged £1 million to Women for Women International to help support their initiatives.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while you likely already know how much I love Charlotte Tilbury products.
I use the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar and Glow Bronzer and Highlighter Duo on my wedding day. I recently grabbed both the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick; and the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter highlighter (in my Sephora VIB Sale Haul) and they have become my everyday beauty go-to’s ever since.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Review and Swatches
Enigmatic Edward
First up in today’s Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Review is Enigmatic Edward! Enigmatic Edward is a conditioning lip balm that was made for Edward Enninful. This lip balm promises 11 hours of moisturization.
The formula contains Magic Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Hyaluronic Acid, Vegan Beeswax, Sunflower, Mimosa and Jojoba Wax Blend.
List of Ingredients:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Octyldodecanol, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Synthetic Beeswax, Synthetic Wax, Jojoba Esters, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Triolein, Sodium Hyaluronate, Candelilla Cera/Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax/Cire De Candelilla, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Parfum (Fragrance), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Polyglycerin-3, Acacia Decurrens Flower Cera/Acacia Decurrens Flower Wax, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citral, Limonene, Linalool.
This balm is very comforting on dry lips. It really does moisturize your lips so that they feel very hydrated and soft. I also like the soft shine that this balm leaves on the lips.
While I do really like this balm, I don’t think I would repurchase it because of the cost. It is $43 which is quite expensive and I can find other balms I really enjoy for less.
Dancefloor Princess
Dancefloor Princess was made for Kylie Minogue.
This lipstick is described as a “pretty, cool-girl, pop-pink”. It is a cool-toned pink in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Formula which makes it feel almost balm-like on your lips yet look like a satin-sheen lipstick.
List of Ingredients:
This product is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Mica, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Dicalcium Phosphate, Ozokerite, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Propylene Carbonate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77499), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090)].
Dancefloor princess has become one of my favourites from the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 as it’s such an easy and comfortable shade to wear.
The formula makes it very comfortable on dry lips, and the shade looks almost like a nude-pink on me.
I love MLBB (my lips but better) lipsticks and that’s exactly what I would consider Dancefloor Princess to be.
Carina’s Star
Carina’s Star is described as a “fresh, illuminating, modern peachy soft coral” and made for Carina Lau. I’ve found that this lip colour is a slightly more red-toned coral which gives it a really vibrant look on the lips.
Ingredients:
This product is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Dicalcium Phosphate, Mica, Ethyl Vanillin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Bht, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491)].
Carina’s Star is such a beautiful and bright lipstick. I love the idea of wearing this one during the spring and summer seasons as it does have that peppiness that’s just so cute during this time of year.
Since this lipstick is in Charlotte’s Matte Revolution formula, it looks really rich and velvety on the lips. The formula, though matte, isn’t drying and is still quite forgiving on dry/chapped lips.
Glowing Jen
Next up is Glowing Jen, and this lip colour was made for Jennifer Anniston.
It is described as a “tawny, beachy rose” which I think is a really accurate description.
It has a beautiful warm brown-rose tone to it that makes it look really rich and beautiful on the lips, yet still natural and easy for daily wear.
Ingredients:
This product is not tested on animals.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Mica, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Ozokerite, Dicalcium Phosphate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Propylene Carbonate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985)].
This lipstick is again in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula so it has a bit more shine to it and feels nice and balmy on the lips.
I really love this colour and I think it’s a great shade to wear year-round, but I think it’ll be especially stunning during the fall season as it does have that earthy brownish-nude tone to it.
In Love with Olivia
In Love with Olivia is one shade I knew I would love just from reading the description.
It’s described as a “super-flattering, sumptuous pink” (doesn’t that just sound beautiful?!) and was made for Olivia Palmero.
Ingredients:
This product is not tested on animals.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Mica, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Ozokerite, Dicalcium Phosphate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Propylene Carbonate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985)].
This shade is such a beautifully wearable pinky-peach tone that is just so flattering and comfortable on the lips. Again, this shade is in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula which means it gives a beautiful shine on the lips and feels very moisturizing.
This is a lipstick that I would definitely put in my purse and wear daily!
JK Magic
Another immediate favourite was JK Magic. This shade is described as a “dreamy, peachy nude-rose” which is exactly what it is.
I adore soft nude-rose lipsticks and this one is definitely my new go-to for daily wear. I love how natural and sophisticated it looks.
Ingredients:
This product is not tested on animals.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Ozokerite, Mica, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Propylene Carbonate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140)].
Again this shade is in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula which means its a great balmy lipstick to wear every day.
I truly feel that this is going to become my new go-to lipstick. For the last while, Pillow Talk has been my go-to (and I absolutely ADORE it) but I just love this super moisturizing formula and the fact that it comes in this beautiful rosy-nude shade just makes it an easy go-to for me.
Red Hot Susan
Looking for something bright and vivacious? Red Hot Susan is for you!
Red Hot Susan is described as a universally-flattering tawny-orange red lipstick and was made for Susan Sarandon.
Ingredients:
This product is vegan friendly and not tested on animals.
Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Mica, Ethyl Vanillin, Dicalcium Phosphate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Bht, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [+/- Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140)].
I am not usually a red-lipstick sort of person so how much I liked this lipstick really surprised me. It’s super flattering, bright and fun – and I’ll absolutely be wearing it time and time again.
This lipstick is in the matte revolution formula which means it applies super rich, velvety, and opaque on the lips.
Amazing Amal
Amazing Amal was made for Amal Clooney and is described as an elegant, soft, warm, berry-pink lipstick.
It is in the Matte Revolution formula so it has that super creamy texture on the lips.
Ingredients:
This product is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Ethyl Vanillin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Mica, Bht, Dicalcium Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [+/- Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140)].
For years, I’ve been on the hunt for my perfect berry-toned lipstick. I have always found they are too plumy, too red, too pink – until now. Amazing Amal is the most stunning berry-toned lipstick and I am so happy I’ve found it in time for fall. Fall + berry tones go together like PJ+J.
Patsy Red
Patsy Red is described as an “iconic, statement red matte lipstick” and was made for Charlotte Tilbury’s mom, Patsy Tilbury.
This shade is again in the matte revolution formula so it looks super luxurious and creamy on the lips.
Ingredients
This product is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Mica, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Ethyl Vanillin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Bht, Dicalcium Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [+/- Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090)].
Patsy Red is a bright and fun raspberry red. I love this kind of shade for summer because it is so bright and peppy.
It’s the perfect summertime lipstick shade.
Angel Alessandra
Angel Alessandra, made for Alessandra Ambrosio, is described as a perfect sunset, peachy nude lipstick.
I would agree with this description as it really is such a beautiful peachy nude lipstick.
Ingredient
This product is vegan-friendly and not tested on animals.
Octyldodecanol, Polybutene, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Mica, Diisostearyl Malate, Silica, Hydrogenated Styrene/Methyl Styrene/Indene Copolymer, Ozokerite, Dicalcium Phosphate, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Propylene Carbonate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Red 6 (Ci 15850), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090)].
This is another shade that I can see myself reaching for daily.
I love peachy tones like this, especially during the summer season, but I can really see this being a year-round favourite, too.
The bright peachy notes give a bit more of pep to this really beautiful nude-toned lipstick.
Viva La Vergara
Last, but not least in today’s Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 Review, is Viva La Vergara. This shade is described as flattering, soft wine matte lipstick made for Sofia Vergara.
Ingredients:
This product is vegan friend and not tested on animals.
Neopentyl Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Trimethylolpropane Triisostearate, Dimethicone, Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Polybutene, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Mica, Ethyl Vanillin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Phalaenopsis Amabilis Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Extract, Bht, Dicalcium Phosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tin Oxide, [+/- Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Yellow 6 Lake (Ci 15985), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492), Blue 1 Lake (Ci 42090), Red 28 Lake (Ci 45410), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140)].
I’m actually a big fan of wine-toned lipsticks, especially during the fall and winter. But, I find it really challenging to find a wine-toned lipstick that isn’t too dark and vampy on me. Vampy lipsticks tend to look too harsh on me so I steer clear of them.
Viva La Vergara hits the perfect balance though and it really is such a beautifully wearable wine-toned lipstick. It’s not too dark or dramatic. I can absolutely see myself wearing this lipstick all winter long!
