Let’s get honest: Do you apply a sunscreen every day?
No, seriously – do you? I didn’t use to, either. Unless I was at a beach or planning to be outside in the sun all day. But, as I get older, and the more I notice fine lines and new random freckles, the more I realize that I need to wear an SPF daily.

Makeup SPF Products:
PUR Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation SPF 15:
Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup foundation is one of the most wearable and comfortable SPF foundations out there. While I like liquid foundations with SPF, sometimes they can end up feeling heavy and sticky on your skin, unlike this lightweight powder.

It Cosmetics SPF 50 CC Cream
Sadly, I just ran out of my It Cosmetics SPF 50 CC Cream, but I’ve used it countless times (and will be repurchasing) and wanted to mention it as a great SPF makeup option. This is a creamy/liquid foundation so I wouldn’t use it in the hot sun, but I do think it’s a wonderful option if you’re looking for something that’ll protect your skin at the office, indoors (ie. fluorescent lighting), or throughout the winter months. I just mainly stay away from wearing this to the beach, or outdoors during the summer because it can feel like it’s melting.Powder SPF:
Colorescience Brush-On SPF 50 UVA/UVB Protection:
Day to day, I now either wear a foundation with SPF, or I lightly dust a powder SPF over top of my foundation. I began using Colorscience Brush-ON SPF 50 last year and I’ve been pretty much hooked on it ever since. This powder formula SPF offers sheer coverage foundation-wise, but it offers a TON of coverage SPF-wise.

Liquid SPF:
Indeed inDefense 30 (moisturizer)
The Indeed inDefense 30 is a lightweight moisturizer that I apply to my skin after doing my AM skincare routine, in substitution for my ZO Sunscreen + Primer. This lightweight moisturizer is great because it absorbs into the skin like any other moisturizer.

La Roche Posay
I started using La Roche Posay products way back when I was in high school. I had been put on a medication which made my skin very photo-sensitive and so I needed a great sun-protectant that wouldn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

Alumier Clear Shield Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 42
One product that I am newly addicted to is the Alumier Clear Shield SPF 42 Sunscreen. I was sent this product and since receiving it I’ve found myself turning to it often. In-fact, it’s been living in my purse along with my Colorscience powder! This is another sunscreen that I’ve found has worked extremely well on my sensitive skin. It’s hydrating like a moisturizer, but performs like a heavy duty sunscreen which I love.Lagom Sun Gel
The Lagom Sun Gel is described as being so lightweight that “you won’t even remember you’re wearing it” – and that is 100% accurate. This sun gel is super lightweight and it does just absorb into your skin – no residual greasy or oily feel left on your skin. I received this a few months from Peach and Lily, and it’s been one of my favourites since.
P.S Have a fella around the house?
My husband isn’t a sunscreen guy. If we’re out at the beach or at a park, he is usually off playing volleyball, frisbee, or whatever sport is going on that day – and it’s hard to convince him to reapply sunscreen. So, while it may be hard to get him to reapply sunscreen when we’re out, I’ve actually found one product that he LOVES to apply in the AM – and imo, a little sun protection is better than nothing. A few Christmas’s ago, I gave my husband a shaving set from Kiehls and it included their Facial Fuel SPF 15 Energizing Moisturizer. This moisturizer is super refreshing on the skin (it has a minty smell and feel) and my husband loves how it makes his skin feel cool and refreshed after shaving. So, if you have a man at home who just refuses to care about sun care products, try to slip the Kiehl’s Facial Fuel into his morning routine. (Plus, this is a great birthday gift, or stocking stuffer!)
