Today, I am sharing an easy tutorial on how to use foam curlers to get beach waves! This simple step-by-step guide will help you achieve beautiful soft waves without using damaging heat tools.

Easy Heatless Beach Waves Tutorial
After recently posting my Summer Beauty Essentials, I realized that like me, many of you are trying to grow out your hair & keep it healthy โ and avoiding heat is healthy hair 101.
During the summer months, it’s easy to damage your hair – there are the damaging rays of the sun and of course, there are heat tools.
To eliminate some of that damage I went on the hunt for an easy technique to help achieve loose beachy waves without the use of heat tools!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
1. Some free time. It takes a while for the curls to set so you’ll want to make sure you have some spare time on your hands
3. Slightly damp hair. If your hair is dry then apply a bit of water to your tresses with a spray bottle.
4. Hair Spray

HOW TO:
1. To start, Iโve been using these rollers for some time and have found that, if you have a bit of extra time, you can come out with gorgeous curls without any of the damage that heat tools leave.
They are incredibly easy to use and eliminate the need for heat tools entirely.
2. Youโre going to want to start with your hair being 90% dry. If itโs 100% dry then take a spray bottle and mist your hair lightly with some water.
Allowing your hair to dry around the rods will ensure that they are set that way.
3. For long loose beachy waves, youโre going to want to take large sections of your hair and wrap the hair around the wand away from your face. Pull the hair away from your face to create a more beachy & windswept look.
4. Allow your hair to sit with the curling rods for 45 minutes โ 1 hour, or until your hair is fully dry and then begin removing the rods.
5. Lightly tousle your hair to separate the curls. If the curls are quite tight just let them sit, they will fall a bit over the next hours.
6. If you find that your hair has trouble holding curls then definitely apply hair spray to hold the look longer.

Such a great idea. Looks so pretty and romantic.

You have such gorgeous hair!
I should try this out! I rarely use hot tools on my hair since I have naturally wavy hair, but sometimes I want a thicker curl!
Sounds like we have very similar hair! I also have a bit of a wave but I just love big curls!

This is great! I have very straight hair- do you have any other suggestions for product that would do a little extra work even before rolling my hair?
Hey Holly!
I definitely do have a few products I'd recommend. First off, I always spray my hair with a volumizing spray when it's damp (I find it adds hold as well as volume), the product I've been using lately (and totally love) is the KMS Volumizing Spray.
Lately though I've also been using KMS Free Shape Hot Flex Spray and that gives a TON of hold to my hair. It keeps my curls lasting for a day or two longer than it would usually. Aside from that I would just say make sure your hair is on the damp side when you put them in and leave them in for as long as you can.
*If you aren't too worried of damage then try using the Flex Spray, rolling the curlers in, and using your blow dryer a bit on the curled sections once your hair is fairly dry – that'll really set them!
Thanks! I'll definitely look into volumizers ๐
Very pretty look! I hate using heat on my hair. I have naturally very curly hair though, so I usually just let it air dry or put it up in very humid weather. This is great for girls that want to try waves/curls.
Would love to hear your thoughts on my new blog post when you get a chance.

I've looked at these rollers before but was a little too scared to try them. Your curls are super adorable! I'm totally pro any type of styling without heat.

I was surprised to find how easily they worked honestly. I originally had thought they'd be like any other roller I've tried which has ended up either being difficult to use or they simply wouldn't set my curls. I am so glad I tried these ones out, they work so easily!
This would work for me Bree but I am sure I would have to keep it in for over an hour… it is great look on you ๐
Your hair looks great Bree. I will have to try that one of these days!
