A few months ago, I was talking to my mum on the phone and she brought up how she used to love the No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars that we used to make back when I was in high school. Hearing about them again reminded me of just how much I loved those No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars and I decided I was going to make them again.
These No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars were a staple in my household as a teen. I loved how they tasted and I loved how simple they were to make. They were really one of my first go-to recipes that I just knew by heart.
After that phone chat, I have been back to making these bars on the regular. They are one of our very favourite treats around our household and I still love just how easy and fast they are to make.
How many bars does this recipe make?
I tend to cut these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars into 15 squares, though if I want them to be more like bars rather than squares, I will cut them into 20 rectangle-shaped bars. You can also cut them into smaller cubes and get 30 bite-sized peanut butter bars out of this recipe – a great option if you’re serving them up at a party or event.
Can I use normal peanut butter rather than natural peanut butter?
Yes, absolutely. You can use whichever type of smooth peanut butter you have on hand. We tend to buy natural peanut butter, but I also recently used regular peanut butter and they turned out just as delicious.
What equipment is needed for this recipe?
What ingredients are in this recipe?
- creamy natural peanut butter
- honey
- old-fashioned rolled oats
- chocolate chips
What type of chocolate chips does this recipe call for?
In this recipe, I used a mixture of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. The reason I used this mixture? Because I had both on hand and only had two cups worth if I used them both! I would say, use whichever chocolate chip you prefer. I also often will use dark chocolate chips since my husband loves dark chocolate and this does make the overall flavour a bit less sweet.
Are there other toppings I can put on these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars?
I haven’t added much to these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars but if you do, please comment and let me know what you add and how it tastes! I love trying new spins on my favourite recipes.
The only toppings I have added on before are peanuts and sea salt. I recently wondered if marshmallows would make a fun addition – but I haven’t tried that out, yet!
How do I store these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars?
You will want to place your No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars into a container and keep them in the fridge. This way, they will stay nice and firm.
How long will these last for?
If you keep these No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars in the fridge, then they will last about 1 week. If you make them and freeze them, they will last up to 3 months.

- 1 cup creamy natural peanut butter
Equipment:

Instructions
- Line the 9×13 pan with parchment paper. I recommend leaving some parchment paper overhanging so that you can easily lift the bars from the pan, once they have set, to cut them into bars.

- Add peanut butter and honey into a medium-large microwave-safe bowl.
- Place your bowl into the microwave and heat the mixture for 1 minute.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and mix to see if your peanut butter has melted. If it has not, place the bowl back into the microwave and heat again for 30-40 seconds. Repeat this step if the peanut butter has not yet melted.
- Once melted, mix the peanut butter and honey together until well combined.
- Pour the peanut butter and honey over the oats and mix until the oats are coated in the peanut butter mixture.
- Pour the oats into the parchment paper-lined 9×13 pan, and press the oats down to make one even layer. Set aside.
