Last Thursday I stopped by the Blu Habour Wellness Spa to indulge my skin in a little TLC. It’s pretty rare that I go to the spa but last week I really focused on getting a little me time in.
The next few weeks and months are going to be pretty busy with our friend’s wedding next weekend, and our wedding in August and so when I was super excited when Blu Harbour invited me to come in for a Oxygeno facial.
In my 26 years, I’ve only had a facial one other time. While I know it’s something you should do fairly regularly, I’ve been terrible at doing so. I always thought that after the age of 25, I would be better at taking care of my skin regularly – but here I am at 26 and only getting my second-ever facial!
I have to say though, if there was one thing that was going to get me hooked on skincare – it would certainly be the OxyGeneo 3-in-1 super facial.
Blu Harbour Wellness Spa
Before I get into the treatment, and my results, I first wanted to talk about the spa. Blu Harbour Spa is located in North Vancouver, BC at the Holiday Inn hotel on 200-720 Old Lillooet Rd. in North Vancouver.
This quaint tucked-away spa is absolutely adorable and has a super inviting atmosphere. I was super impressed by the aesthetic of this spa, as well as by the spa’s staff.
Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, and chock-full of information!

OxyGeneo 3-in-1 Super Facial
The OxyGeneo 3-in-1 super facial is a 3-step treatment which exfoliates, infuses and oxygenates the skin to give you softer, smoother, and more youthful-looking skin.
This treatment is considered safer for your skin than microdermabrasion as it doesn’t use a suction method. The suction method used with microdermabrasion can actually break your capillaries.

My Experience
For the treatment, you’re able to choose between two serums – the NeoRevive or NeoBright. The NeoRevive formula has Hyaluronic Acid, Peptides, and Retinol and targets fine lines and wrinkles and helps to add vibrancy back into the skin.
The NeoBright has Azelaic Acid, Kojic Acid, and Retinol which help reduce pigmentation and signs of sun damage while lightening the skin. This treatment is good for those who have freckles and want to reduce the look of them.
Since I like my freckles, wanted to say bye-bye to fine lines, and felt my skin was looking a tad dull – I decided to go with the NeoRevive formula.
In the “Before” image I definitely was struggling with some unevenness in my skin tone as well as some dry patches – specifically on my chin. **In my before image, I do have a bit of makeup on my eyes (mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner), but I didn’t wear any face makeup that day.
The exfoliating process can be a bit uncomfortable feeling as the pad used wears down as it’s on your skin and becomes rougher as the treatment goes on. If the discomfort is unmanageable then they are able to change the setting so that it’s softer or they can add more serum onto your skin so that the exfoliating pad/stone has more to glide over.
As the treatment goes on, there is some bubbling on the foam which feels and sounds so weird! It’s strangely relaxing to feel the foam and hear the bubbles lightly pop.
Then more of the serum is applied to the skin, and an ultrasound device is used to help activate the serum. This part is very relaxing as the serum begins to warm on your skin. I nearly fell asleep!
To finish, they applied a bit of Hyaluronic Acid to my skin as well as a sunscreen since your skin is extra-sensitive to the sun after a treatment like this.
In the after photo, my skin looks much more even, healthy, and even glowing. I have zero makeup on and felt totally comfortable and confident going for lunch after my appointment and running errands that afternoon.
