A little history on my skin (and skincare)
First, let me share a bit of background on my skin with you all. My skin is dry-prone and quite sensitive.
Whenever I try a new beauty or skincare product, I am typically on high alert that there’s a high likelihood that my skin could get 1) even drier than usual, or 2) break out in hives.
There really have been more than a few occasions when I have tried a product in hopes that it would be great – and ended up with irritated, red, and painful skin.
In with the New… Trying Out Paula’s Choice Calm Redness Relief Skincare
When I shared my skincare concerns with the Paula’s Choice team, they let me know that their new Calm Skincare Line would be the perfect one to address my skincare concerns.
Once I received my Paula’s Choice Redness Relief skincare kit (which is formulated for normal to dry-prone skin), I immediately swapped out my skincare and began to use the full Paula’s Choice Calm Redness Relief Skincare line.
Usually, with a line as large as this one, there’s a product or two that I don’t end up using as regularly, but I have actually found that this entire line works really well all together and doesn’t over-moisturize (which often happens with soothing skincare lines and leads to my skin looking bumpy and irritated) my skin.

Calm Redness Relief Cleanser
The Calm Cleanser is probably one of my favourite products in this line. I use a cleanser every single day, and need one which can clean my skin without drying it out.
So many cleansers are too harsh on my sensitive skin and leave it feeling striped. This cleanser though has a creaminess to it which feels very hydrating even while foaming up on my skin.
Calm Redness Relief Toner
I rarely have used toners on my skin, and when I have in the past I have found that they felt chemically and irritating to my skin. Since this toner is milky and almost cream-based, it didn’t feel harsh on my sensitive skin. It surprised me that it actually felt somewhat moisturizing. I definitely will continue to use this toner since it does seem to work well with my dry skin.
Calm Redness Relief 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
For me, this exfoliant felt very unique in comparison to any other exfoliants I have used. It was incredibly gentle and didn’t have the gritty texture that I have typically found with exfoliants. Instead, this creamy exfoliant just felt as though it lightly cleansed my skin to leave it feeling fresh and clean, and not irritated.
Calm Redness Relief Repairing Serum
I love skincare serums, and this one is no exception. This serum is very light and doesn’t just sit on your skin. It absorbs in quickly and instantly leaves you with super soft-feeling skin.
Calm Redness Relief SPF 30 Mineral Moisturizer
While I totally believe in wearing an SPF every single day, I am not always the best at putting it into practice. Occasionally, I have forgotten to quickly apply an SPF-based skincare product before leaving the house – but that’s something I plan to change now that I have this moisturizer.
While this moisturizer is a bit heavier than what I am used to, it does help moisturize my skin and give it a healthier appearance. Plus, it protects my skin from the sun’s harmful rays – and that’s just a win-win!
Calm Redness Relief Moisturizer
Initially, I thought this moisturizer may be too heavy for me since when I first tried it I noticed that the texture was quite thick. But, when you actually apply this moisturizer it somehow feels much lighter than it looks. I loved this product, and I have used it quite a bit to help remedy the dry patches of skin that I get typically on my nose and forehead.

I’ve been using Dermalmd rosacea serum nightly, along with the Redness Relief cleanser and the day moisturizer, and I’ve noticed a substantial difference. My rosacea is mild, but bothersome, and was looking for a non-subscription antidote. I can safely say dermalmd rosacea serum, when used together with the cleanser and day moisturizer, reduced redness by about 85%
