The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review (VIDEO)

The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review

If you’ve been following my YouTube channel for any length of time then you likely know that I tend to like really lightweight foundations.

While full-coverage foundations can make skin look totally flawless – sometimes they feel heavy, look cakey, or cover up things I don’t want to be covered – like my freckles.

For that reason, I’ve always been partial to lighter coverage foundation. I find them easier to wear for longer periods of time, they feel and look more natural on the skin, and they let freckles and moles shine through.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review

The Ordinary Serum foundation is a light-medium coverage foundation that comes in 21 unique shades.

So… Does it Contain SPF?

Yes, it does. It contains SPF 15.

How to Apply It

Before using the Ordinary serum foundation, you’ll want to shake it up.

On Deciem, they suggest you first dispense a small bit of foundation on the back of your hand, then apply it to your face, and then blend it out.

I don’t apply it to the back of my hand, instead, I just pump out 2 drops of foundation onto my fingertips and then swiped it onto my cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. Then, I blended it out with a brush.

*Do not apply over broken skin/cuts.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review Summary

The Ordinary’s Serum Foundation has a really interesting texture. It feels like a liquid initially, but once applied it feels almost like a powder on the skin. I would say it has a liquid-to-powder texture.

I applied the foundation with my fingertips and then blended it out with a brush. I felt like it applied really easily and blended out beautifully.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation Review

Overall, I would say the foundation lasted well. But after a few hours, it did end up clinging to some of the drier spots on my nose and chin.

My skin does tend to get dry so I probably wouldn’t want to wear this foundation when my skin is really leaning dry. And, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have very dry skin.

After about 5-6 hours, I also noticed that my forehead did look a bit shiny/dewy (perhaps even… oily?) but that’s not something that I mind. I actually like when my foundation appears dewier so this isn’t a big deal for me.
